Stayed
at Boston Hotel Commonwealth Hotel for fourth of July weekend. The
hotel smells very new and well maintained - very nice and large room
with nice beddings, bathroom and L'Occittane toiletries. Very helpful
staff. I enjoyed my stay there very much. 20 minute walking distance to
Newbury street, which isn't bad provided nice weather. The entrance to
the lobby is a bit strange but seems like the hotel is still going
through some minor constructions on the road side. Highly recommended.
For its price category,
The Boston Hotel Commonwealth Hotel
was an extremely comfortable stay. The staff was attententive and
friendly, assisting us with directions, maps, and restaurant
reservations.
My wife
and I stayed at Boston Commonwealth Hotel Boston for a week in late
May, 2004 while we were between homes. (We live in Cambridge.) We
stayed in a Commonwealth Room, and it was a flat-out fabulous room. The
room is very large, w/a large separate sitting area separated from the
sleeping area by a heavy curtain, and a luxurious (large, again)
bathroom with a separate w/c (a very nice touch). In addition to the
size and the standard luxurious amenities, e.g., excellent toiletries,
2 large TVs, direct-dial phones in each room, the room had nice details
such as small lights positioned in the archway-like structure that
separates the sleeping and sitting areas and another small light
focused on a decorate vase in the entryway.

at the Boston Hotel Commonwealth Hotel for one night in April, 2004.
Quite impressed. Room was large and beautiful with so many amenities. I
had stayed at the Westin Copley Sq the evening before and even their
"heavenly" beds did not compare to the comfort of the beds at the Hotel Commonwealth.
The linens were first class and amazingly soft. The staff was gracious
and helpful. The room was clean and new. Prices were reasonable for the
Boston area, with parking included in my package. Note that traffic
gets heavy around the hotel when there are games at Fenway and you may
have to work around that in your departure times. All in all, a small
hotel to rival the large chains...a "secret" that eventually won't be
so secret.
