The discount Hotel Marconi Venice Italy. My husband and I spent our first year anniversary in Venice and decided to stay at Hotel Marconi based on its location right on the Grand Canal and the good reviews it received. We were not disappointed! Our room was charming with that authentic Venetian feel (there was even a metal mirror to top it off.) The cleaning staff did an excellent job in keeping our room immaculate everyday, and the staff really knows how to take care of its customers. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were told that there was an available room at a "sister" hotel just on the other side of the Grand Canal with a Canal view room.

The room was offered to us for one night at no extra charge. We even had help carrying our luggage all the way across the Rialto bridge to get to the other hotel. What a great way to spend the first night in Venice! The staff was also helpful in providing suggestions on places to eat. We tried every restaurant recommended to us and we were pleased with them all. If you're looking for a good quality, centrally located hotel with true Venetian feel, Hotel Marconi is the right place to book.

The discount Hotel Marconi Venice Italy We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Marconi, booked thru Expedia. This hotel is located just steps from the Rialto Bridge and is within easy walking distance to all the major sights. We had 2 rooms; #404 was quite spacious with three windows overlooking alleys and rooftops; #402 was a smaller, more standard room. Both were very clean and in fine condition. Breakfast was substantial with an assortment of breads, cereals, meats, cheeses plus eggs and bacon. The staff (Carlo, Federico & Thomosino?) were all pleasant, cordial and helpful.

They arranged a water taxi for our arrival and 5:30 AM departure! As with many older, authentic buildings, the Marconi does not have an elevator and this could pose a problem for some; but it didn't bother us. We were on the 4th floor and all the floors seem identical; so room #204 or #304 might be also worth booking if they are the same floor plan as #404. The off-season rate was very attractive, but I don't know how expensive rooms would be in peak season. A great restaurant, Alla Madonna, is just 100 yds around the corner. All in all, this is a delightful hotel in a fabulous location and we would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Having culled what I could from the web in advanced I settled on aiming for Room 101 at the discount Hotel Marconi Venice Italy. It was expensive, but it was important to get that particular room, I was taking my girl to Venice for her birthday and the whole experience had to be good. Room 101 has a narrow balcony overlooking the Grand Canal and a view of the Rialto bridge.

> The discount Hotel Marconi Venice Italy room was fantastic, very late 19th century feeling with none of the inconvenience. Of course, having great weather in November really helped the mood too. The only problem was that they had trouble getting a couple of my shirts ironed, which I found a bit unusual in a hotel of that calibre.
