This is a nice hotel, in an excellent location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. However, you can forget about making any special requests to the cleaning staff, because most of them don't understand a bit english (seriously). The a day charge for using the gym is excessive, at least they should offer a weekly pass at a reduced rate. I would much rather pay a higher room rate, than have to deal with "add on" charges. They were so nice they gave us excersice mats and a luxorius futon to sleep on and let us sleep 5 to a room, even though it can probaly only fit a 210 pound man. The big screen had over 3 channels on it and a remote with no battery to match. The recliner was something out of MTV cribs and could easily fit in the bathroom...... The desk clerk was very informative and helpful. He arranged all of our tours and made two dinner reservations for us. The hotel is located in the Garden District with the streetcar as a main source of public transportation. Many diners and full scale restaurants within walking distance....... This discount hotel rooms in new orleans - International House New Orleans. No complaints here. The rooms were quaint and clean. The staff was friendly and very accomadating. My only complaint was breakfast wasnt served on time saturday. We were located alittle further from discount than I would have liked but the hotel was nice. It is not a Homestead Suites by Hilton or Marriott Suites, but it is worth it. The location is next to a Hilton Garden inn, Homestead Suites, and Le Pavillion Hotel. It is in the CBD/Downtown. My sister and I took our 68 year old mother to New Orleans. The bellman serenaded us after unloading our luggage and showing us around the room. We read the reviews and like most people were nervous. But we felt relieved at check in with great service. The rooms are huge, with a few extra college students, there is plenty of room to fit sleeping bags and luggage! I was plesently surprised, because the plain outside didnt do justice to the well decorated inside. The location is close enough to the French Quarter for shopping and stumbling home after one too many drinks, yet far enough away to sleep until noon with no street-noise disturbance.
