I took the trolley for my city tour, right behind the hotel. A few steps away are the Horton Plaza where I did most of my shopping. Took the bus to Seaport Village, ferry dock to Coronado Island, and also walked to Santa Fe where the Coasters brought me to the Oceanside. I also visited the Balboa museums and the zoo by bus. Plenty of nice bars and restaurants are available at the Gaslamp area by San Diego Gaslamp Plaza Suite. Very decent sleep here and I will go back.

I easily walked from the hotel to a lot of sights in San Diego like restaurants, pubs, shops and other entertainment centers. The hotel is very old with a splendid history. The San Diego Gas Lamp Plaza Suite Hotel staff is super friendly and helpful, greeting us by our names! Our room is very large; almost double the size of an ordinary hotel room, but half the price! We also got a kitchen which is super convenient for our family. The complimentary breakfast is a plus bonus. Most of the guests here stay about one week as the hotel joint a time share program had a wonderful time here.

We feel very comfortable at this hotel due to the courteous, helpful and friendly staff. We walked to the water front, the shops and restaurants around, just a few easy steps. If you do want to rent a car, you can find Enterprise just two blocks away. The room is very clean and nice. We enjoyed the rooftop breakfast with plenty of coffee, tea, fresh juice, cereal, muffins, and donuts. Hot tub is a great bonus after one day's busy sightseeing. Compared with other hotels like Hyatt, Marriott, San Diego Gas Lamp Plaza Suite Hotel is right in the center of all funs. Great experience at a boutique hotel.
