Using a palette of fire, water, timber, stone and steel, a concept was developed that reflects Seattle in the 21st century.

These days, business travelers and vacationers fill most of the rooms. The soul of the Seattle Hotel Edgewater Seattle is its lobby, with its two-story-tall picture windows and 180-degree views of water, sky, and mountains. Guests meet, mingle, and take advantage of wireless Internet access next to river-rock fireplaces and framed paintings of salmon. "Beautiful Water Views, Terrific Service!" From the moment you arrive at the Seattle Hotel Edgewater Seattle, it is obvious this isn't your average hotel. The views from the lobby are breath taking, only to be outdone by the view from your room. The 67 restraunt is great, the staff are very friendly and always willing to be of assistance. And being within walking distance to much of what you come to see is a huge plus. The shower heads were great.

Seattle Hotel Edgewater Seattle is the only hotel in Seattle that is built on a pier extending over Elliot Bay. And with zoning laws being what they are, it is the only hotel in Seattle that will ever be build on a pier over Elliot Bay. That being said, you have to stay in one of the water side rooms with a balcony. There is nothing like it. Sure, the rooms are small, but the recent renovations and unique decor make up for the lack of room.

Opening the sliding door onto the balcony right over the water is really nice. You can watch the shipping go past from your window and the sunrise and sunset over the water is exceptional. The Seattle Hotel Edgewater Seattle is not central to the main shopping heart of the city on 4th and 5th Avenues but it is within a 15 minute walk (and lifts near the Marriott can take you most of the way to the the top of the hill). The Space Needle is only about 10-15 minutes walk away. The Seattle Hotel Edgewater Seattle is right on the water so the waterfront restaurants and ferries are conveniently located.

From the moment we first saw The Seattle Hotel Edgewater Seattle until the second we had to leave, I was entranced with the place. To begin with, the indoor decor looked just as I had hoped: like a mountain lodge full of ambiance and crackling fires in the fireplaces. The room was a delight as well...from the balcony ON (not near, but ON) the water, the hand-carved wooden beam bed, the already lit fire in our own fireplace, to the Ralph Lauren plaid comforter complete with a welcoming Gund bear situated comfortably on the European pillows, and an umbrella by the door, I was thrilled. Then later, dinner...again, ON the water, at sunset...it was beautiful and a dream. I would highly recommend a visit, if but for a night, in order to experience the one hotel that I feel personifies the mountains and lodges of the Pacific Northwest. Its truly a MUST for a first-time visitor to Seattle!
